about
My name is Sue and I am the voice behind Motherhood and Me.
I am raw to a fault and tell my story of motherhood honestly and organically. It isn’t always pretty around here, but it it’s real and I am proud of that.
In a former life I was a busy restaurant pastry chef and high-end bakery manager. These days my nameplate says “MOM” to two delicious children; Brayden and Queen B.
I write to cleanse my soul, connect with like minds, tell it like it is and grow as a writer. I dream of owning my own bakery, publishing a memoir, watching my kids grow and flourish, standing side by side my husband and smiling a lot.
I love to connect so lurkers come out of hiding! You can engage with me here, on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest,Instagram, Tumblr and more.
———-
I am from constant motion, a cathedral without aisles, from early mornings of grits and eggs.
I am from the second story of a New England home, the majestic, misty Redwoods of California and the fog of Britain.
I am from the scent of humidity, the California poppy and the backwoods of Trailing Arbutus.
I am from momentous ornaments and overachievers, from the Dunbars and the Elizabeths, the Haglers and the Georges, the War Eagles and Southern Belles.
I am from this too shall pass and helping hands.
From suck it up and never give up.
I am from community congregation, Gardens of grandfathers and this is just what you do.
I’m from the Windy City filled with violet and the meat with three veg.
From car rides with vomit, blueberry-picking time outs, teachers with soul and sensitivity from the heart.
I am from condos in Maui, the changing leaves of Vermont and unconditional love.
Where are you from?
